It’s that time of year, when your sailor is out of all the supplies you bought at the beginning of the season. Oh ya, AND it’s Christmas. So fill their stockings with what you have to buy anyway🤣💸.

1- E-Tape
Electrical tape (e-tape) is an essential for my sailor. He says, “mom, we use it for everything.” I’ll take his word for it and buy more because the colors are fun. 🤷🏻♀️🌈

Most regattas require them. We like these because they’re lightweight and won’t rust like the metal ones.

We’ve all been there. The “rigged and ready” deadline is approaching and coach is making his way to your boat for the final check and your sailor asks if you’ve seen the wind indicator. That’s of course a hard no. You run to the nearest vendor only to be told that the last one just sold. Never has a piece of plastic and metal been so coveted…

Unlike the rest of our skin, lips don’t produce melanin, which means they are more vulnerable to UV damage.

5- Croakies
True story: out of desperation I bought a pair of pricey sunnies from a regatta vendor and before the first race, my sailor had lost them. Learned my lesson and croakies are non-negotiable.

6- Sail ties
Like the land of misfit toys, there is a place where all the sail ties go to never be seen again. Until we find that place, it’s time to restock.

4 hours into a practice or regatta and the sweat has depleted your sailor. The babies come in packets so they’re light to carry on board.

8- SNACKS
When all else melts or gets soggy, and it will, these bad boys save the day.

I will not name brand names but as Will Ferrell said in Elf, American sunscreen companies sit on a throne of lies! Well he didn’t say that exactly but it feels that way when you’re asking your sailor how they are sunburnt when they swear up and down that they reapplied.
That was before the day that changed everything. The day we discovered some Harken Derm in a regatta swag bag.I have never used another sunscreen since. It’s the only sunscreen that works. There. I said it. And it stands to reason. The stuff was created by a physician who was looking to prevent sun damage for her sailor husband.
Ya, I know, it’s pricey but it’s worth every penny.

10- Sunglasses
We all know polarized sunglasses are a must when you’re out on the water. But there’s a sting like no other when the water claims three digits of your money in the form of sunnies. That’s why we love goodr. Quality without the sticker shock.
